Better health, enhanced physical performance… more quality of life.
Each bone, muscle and internal organ is bound by a soft, pliable membrane called fascia. The deep tissue manipulations that Rolfers employ act directly upon this 3D wetsuit-like wrapping.
What do we accomplish?
Rolfing is a bodywork modality based on connective tissue (or fascia) manipulation to improve one’s structure, posture and movement. You may notice that your back hurts after spending long hours in front of your computer; or you may feel discomfort in your legs from standing up all day at work. Maybe you haven’t completely recovered from an old injury. In any of these cases, Rolfing can help.
Thanks to Rolfing we can improve our posture and physical wellbeing. We can reduce chronic pain and tension, while furthering flexibility and confidence. Athletes, executives, housewives and a large number of professionals, have already tried the cumulative benefits of Rolfing. Furthermore, Rolfing also helps to fine-tune coordination in physical disciplines such as Tai Chi, Yoga or Pilates.
This postural integration method owes its name to it’s creador, Dr. Ida P. Rolf (1896 - 1979). Both researcher and pioneer who studied and developed the technique that has been named after her. Currently, Rolfing is practiced by more than 1,500 professionals (Rolfers) world wide.
